Creativity can be a good thing, but getting bogged down in details is counterproductive. Often creating something is better than not creating anything at all. Van Gogh created several hundred paintings in one year! Every one of them may not be gems, but some are truly outstanding. He learned more everytime he took paint brush to canvas. Trial and error just like everyone else. I have a box set on Van Gogh, the first book is the early years with many awkward imitative works, and the finally book is filled with breathtaking colorful art.
My Junior High art teacher taught me one thing that was very important - don't get upset when you "mess up", just see how you can work with it. If we don't allow for mistakes, we don't allow for any happy surprises. So this is how I'm going to approach blogging.
